  • Cedar Springs Community Pantry - Our local pantry is the Cedar Springs Community Pantry. Although the pantry is housed in the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church it is not just a CSUMC pantry. In fact many of the volunteers that staff the pantry are from East Nelson. The pantry is open from 9:30 to 11 a.m., 5 days a week and serves on the average of 5 families each day. We can help the pantry stock up, so that they will be ready to serve more families as the need arises, by donating nonperishable food items now. Currently the greatest need is for cereal, fruit juices, canned meat, soup and mac-n-cheese. There will be a collection basket on the mission table in the gathering room.

New Member Orientation

Have you ever thought about joining East Nelson Church? Then you are invited to a new member orientation on Sunday, October 15 after worship.

What is membership you ask? Church membership, is not about “additional requirements.” It’s about this church taking specific responsibility for you and you for this church. It’s about putting on and embodying the church universal and living our faith in Christ out loud.

This orientation is designed for:
· Explorers: People wanting to know about Methodism.
· Attenders: All who wish to become members.
· Transfers: People coming from other churches (United Methodist or not).
· New Christians: those wishing to profess their faith and be baptized.

Attending this initial meeting does not obligate you to join the church. It will provide you with information to make a decision about membership.

If this sounds great to you please attend an initial meeting in the KidzKlub room directly after worship on October 15. I look forward to seeing you there!
