October Scripture Readings

We will begin October by finishing the Gospel of John. We left off in the middle of Jesus preparing the Disciples for the Crucifixion and Resurrection. Try to read each section as if it is new to you. 

We will finish the month by returning to the Psalms. Just reminder, they are very personal songs or poems about a person’s relationship with God. As you the read a daily Psalm, I would like you to continue to ask yourself: 

• What it the Psalm saying about how you feel about God? 
• Is the Psalm describing you?
• How is this Psalm speaking to you? 

For these readings, I would like to repeat the directions from last month: Read the passage twice every morning. The first time you read the passage, try to understand what is being said. The second time you read it, pray for God to allow the passage to speak to you or show you what He may be saying to you. In addition, read the passage again at the end of the day and see how it has impacted your day or enlightened you about your daily relationships with God, your family, friends, and/or co-workers. Share with someone else how God is speaking to you through these passages.
