Dear Siblings in Christ,
I am excited to begin this journey of faith with East Nelson UMC! Since I haven’t met most of you yet, I’d like to use this space to introduce myself and share a bit about my background.
Originally from Kansas, I settled in the Muskegon, MI area in 2013. I was a professional violinist and teacher for over 25 years, transitioning to pastoral ministry in July 2021, and have been serving Cedar Springs UMC as a Licensed Local Pastor since that time. I received my Master of Divinity in May 2023 from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. This past week, at MI Annual Conference 2024, I was commissioned as a Provisional Elder, a sacred event of welcoming into a new fellowship of ministry. I love God, people, music, the great outdoors, and good food. I have one daughter, Sage, and do my best to balance family and church responsibilities with quality time in the garden, on the beach, or doing home DIY projects.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, hearing your stories and stories of the church and community. I pray that this time of transition will be a blessing to us all, that we might serve God more fully.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Michelle
